Haylee is a summer intern at Pathways Family Counseling and a current undergraduate student at the University of Kentucky, where she is pursuing a B.A. in Psychology with minors in Criminology and Sociology. She is also working towards getting certificates in Structurally Responsive Mental Health Care and Social Science Research. At UK, Haylee is an undergraduate research assistant in the RISK Lab where she contributes to research on ADHD symptoms in women across different stages of the menstrual cycle. 

 

At Pathways, Haylee supports the team in various ways. Haylee plays a vital role in assisting with office operations as she answers phone calls, completes intake forms, creates company handbooks using Canva, collects client resources and referrals, and converts past client files to digital records. She also has the opportunity to observe supervision sessions which has provided her valuable insight into the clinical decision making process and strategies for approaching complex cases. 

 

Haylee plans to pursue a masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with the goal of working with adolescents and young adults. She is particularly interested in using evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to support clients in managing their emotions and improving their overall well-being. She believes in empowering young individuals to understand their emotions, find their voice, and take an active role in the healing process. 

 

Haylee is deeply grateful to be a part of the Pathways Family Counseling team and is inspired by the dedication and compassion of the clinicals she works alongside.
