Dr. Katie Musa (Wootton)
Dr. Katie Wootton has recently resigned as the Director and as a clinician at Pathways Family Counseling. She plans to begin providing therapy services in January 2021, but will work from a Telehealth format, rather than from a private practice, in person setting, until future notice. Dr. Wootton’s purpose and calling in life is to be a Therapist. This decision was not easy for her to leave her practice, but given the unpredictability of the current health crisis, this was the right compromise for her career and growing family at this time. Dr. Wootton thanks her clients with great appreciation for their flexibility and understanding during her back to back maternity leaves and her current changes in her work as a Therapist.
Katie founded Pathways Family Counseling to share her amazingly effective and emphatic counseling style with her hard-working and hopeful clients looking to overcome life's many challenges or improve important relationships with loved ones, family, romantic partners, or friends.
She holds a PhD from the University of Akron, is a licensed Marriage/Family Therapist, Counselor, Play Therapist, Family Therapist, and an AAMFT Supervisor.
She works extensively with individual adults, children/teens, parents, couples, and families. Katie enjoys helping people achieve their therapy goals and personal potential from an empathetic and knowledgeable approach.
Katie not only works with adult clients, but has an unique passion and additional training to be an incredibly effective therapist for children. Children are not able to simply 'talk' about their problems like an adult can. She is trained to use a child's research-supported, age-appropriate, language of 'play' during therapy to understand the root-causes of your child's difficulties, fears, or anxiety.
